Settings and branding

Change your business name, logo, brand color and time zone, see where branding shows for clients, and delete your account.

Updated 4 min read

Settings in the sidebar controls how your business appears to clients, how Tangentflow emails you, and your account. Changes to name, logo and color apply to every new email and to the client page the next time it loads.

Business name

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Edit Business name (2 to 80 characters).
  3. Press Save.

The name appears at the top of every client email and page, in the email sender ("Harbor Bookkeeping via Tangentflow"), in subjects such as "Harbor Bookkeeping needs 2 documents from you", and in the "Why you got this email" box.

Website

The website is entered on the Business step of setup. It shows under your name in the header of the client page and in client emails, and the "Why you got this email" box tells clients to contact you "through yoursite.com" if they are unsure the request is genuine.

  1. In Settings, press Upload logo.
  2. Choose a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG under 1 MB. Square images of at least 128px look best, as the hint says.

The logo replaces the initials placeholder in the header of the client page and in the sidebar of your app. In emails there is one rule to know: the logo is only used when it is a PNG or JPG. Most mail apps cannot show SVG or WebP, so for those formats emails show your initials in a dark square instead. If email branding matters to you, upload a PNG or JPG.

On Free, the hint notes that the logo is "Shown alongside the Tangentflow badge". The badge is the "Collected securely with Tangentflow" line at the bottom of the client page; Pro removes it.

Brand color

  1. In Settings, use the color picker next to Brand color, or type a hex value such as #1f5fa8.
  2. Press Save. Reset clears the field and returns to the default violet (#5b42eb).

Two rules apply, both enforced when you save:

  • The value must be a six-digit hex color, #rrggbb.
  • It must read on a white page. The contrast ratio against white has to be at least 3:1. A color that is too light is rejected with "Pick a darker color, so links stay readable."

On the client page the color becomes the accent: links, selected answer buttons, item numbers and the focus ring. In client emails it colors the top border of the card, the main button, the checklist numbers and the link under the button.

Time zone

The Time zone selector sits under Notifications. The first time you open the app, Tangentflow takes your browser's time zone and saves it. Change it here if that was wrong. It is used for two things: your 8am daily summary email, and quiet hours for clients. Automatic reminders are only sent between 8am and 8pm in this zone, and at most one a day per client.

Notifications

The Notifications card has three options for how Tangentflow emails you:

  • Urgent now, the rest in a daily summary. Emails straight away when something needs you (the autopilot hands over, a delivery fails, a client writes). Everything else arrives in one email at 8am.
  • Daily summary only. One email at 8am with everything.
  • Everything immediately. An email for every submission, completion and autopilot step.

This setting is per person, not per business. Everything also appears under Alerts in the sidebar.

Connected apps

The Connected apps card shows the address to add Tangentflow as a custom connector in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, with a Copy button, and lists each connected assistant. Disconnect revokes one. This is a Pro feature.

Deleting your account

The Delete account card at the bottom of Settings removes your login and, when you are the only member of the business, the business itself with every request, file, checklist, QR code, batch and destination. Deletion happens right away and cannot be undone.

  1. Press Delete on the Delete account card.
  2. In the dialog "Delete your account?", type your email address exactly as shown.
  3. Press Delete everything.

If you have an active Pro subscription, deletion is refused with "Cancel your Pro subscription in Billing first, then delete your account." See Billing. If other people belong to the business, only your own login is removed and the business stays.

FAQ

Why does my logo show on the page but not in emails?

It is an SVG or WebP. Emails only embed PNG or JPG logos. Upload one of those formats to see it in both places.

Can I use a light brand color?

Not if it fails the 3:1 contrast check against white. Pick a darker shade of the same color. The page and emails always keep text in their own dark colors, so only the accent changes.

Where do I change the email sender address?

You cannot. Emails are sent from Tangentflow's address with your business name in the sender column. When email replies are on, replies go to a per-request address that files them under the request.

Still stuck?

Email hello@tangentflow.com. A person reads every message, usually the same day.
