Stop chasing clients for statements and receipts every month
Send every client their month-end checklist in one go. Clients upload from their phone with no login, every statement is checked the moment it arrives, and an AI agent follows up on what's missing until your close date. You open the books with everything in.
Free to try with one client, no credit card. Pro is $29 a month for all your clients.
Month-end, on autopilot
One batch on the 1st. Everything in by your close date.
01 · 1st of the month
Send every client their checklist at once
Upload your client sheet once and turn on Repeat every month. Each client gets their own private link with that month's list, on the same day every month.
02 · Days 1–5
Clients upload from their phone
No account, no portal password. Photos of receipts are fine; statements arrive as PDFs with every page.
03 · On every upload
Problems are flagged on the spot
Missing pages, last month's statement or an unreadable receipt is flagged while the client is still on the page, so they fix it then.
04 · Until your close date
The agent chases what's missing
Reminders paced to your due date, listing only the items each client still owes. Questions get answered without a call.
05 · When it's all in
Everything lands where you work
Download a ZIP per client or send each finished request to Google Drive. Copies are deleted afterwards.

Checked on arrival
The month's paperwork, checked before you open the file
Start from the Monthly bookkeeping checklist and change anything. Each item tells the AI what a good upload looks like, so problems are caught while the client still has the statement open.

The agent does the follow-ups you hate writing
It emails each client their checklist, answers "which statement do you mean?" and "is a photo of the receipt OK?", and paces reminders to your close date, listing only what's still missing. Clients can reply to the email with attachments and the files land under the right item. When a client asks something only you can answer, like how to treat a transaction, the agent hands it to you instead of guessing.
How it compares
Most bookkeepers chase by email today, or pay for a full practice-management suite to get a client portal. Tangentflow does one job: getting the documents in.
| Tangentflow | Email and shared folders | Practice-management suites | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Client needs an account | No, one private link | No | Usually a portal login |
| Checks each upload | Yes, in seconds | No, you find problems later | Varies |
| Reminders | Agent, paced to your date | You write them | Scheduled emails |
| Answers client questions | Yes, by email | You do | You do |
| Send to every client at once | Yes (Pro, from a sheet) | Copy and paste | Yes |
| Setup time | Minutes, from a template | None | Days to weeks |
| Pricing | Free to try, then $29/month | Free | Usually per user, per month |
Need full practice management (time, billing, tax workflows)? A suite is the better fit. See our honest comparison of document collection software.

Worth of your time
$500
Pro is $29 a month. If the agent takes even a quarter of that off your plate, that's $125 of your time back.

Questions bookkeepers ask
- Do my clients need an account or a portal login?
- No. Each client gets a private link that opens on their phone or computer. There is nothing to install and no password to forget.
- Can I send the month-end request to all my clients at once?
- Yes, on Pro. Upload a sheet of up to 100 clients and each one gets their own request, sent now or scheduled up to 30 days ahead. Turn on Repeat every month and the same clients get a new request on the same day each month, until you stop it.
- What does the AI check on each upload?
- Whatever you set on each item: that a bank statement has every page and covers the right month, that it's a PDF, that a receipt's date and total are readable, and that the file is what the item asks for. Problems are flagged while the client is still on the page.
- Does it connect to QuickBooks, Xero or bank feeds?
- No. Tangentflow collects and checks documents; it doesn't categorize transactions. Download each client's files as a ZIP, or on Pro send every finished request to Google Drive or your own system with a webhook.
- Will the agent answer my clients' accounting questions?
- No. It answers questions about what to upload and how, and sends reminders. Anything that needs your judgment, like how to treat a transaction, is handed to you.
- How long are client files kept?
- They're deleted automatically after the request is complete or its retention period ends: 7 days on Free and up to 60 days on Pro. Keep what you need in your own system.
- What does it cost?
- Free covers one open request at a time, with the AI agent on your first one, so you can try it with a real client. Pro is $29 a month for unlimited requests, batches, email replies with attachments, Google Drive delivery and your branding.
