Video testimonials

Video testimonials your customers actually record

Most happy customers say yes and never record. Send one private link instead: they record on their phone or webcam with your questions on screen, add a star rating and a line of text, and sign permission for the uses you list. Each video is checked against your specs, the best quotes are pulled from the transcript, and an AI agent follows up with anyone who hasn't recorded yet.

Record on the page, no app

The link opens in the phone or computer browser with no account. Your questions stay on screen while they record, with a countdown, a preview and a retake. Customers who already filmed can upload a file up to 500 MB instead.

Your specs, checked before upload

Set the shape (vertical, horizontal or square), a minimum and maximum length and 720p or 1080p per video. A take that's too long or the wrong shape is caught before it's sent, while the customer can still redo it.

Quotes pulled from the transcript

The audio of videos up to 10 minutes is transcribed and checked against your questions, for example whether it mentions your business by name, and up to three strong quotes are pulled out for your website.

Ratings and written reviews too

Add a 1 to 5 star rating and a written review question next to the video, or ask only for those from customers who won't go on camera. Before and after photos are checked for blur and light.

Permission signed for each use

List the uses, such as your website, social posts, paid ads and case studies. The customer ticks each use they allow, types their name and signs on the page, and you get a signed PDF with the video.

An agent that asks for the retake

Ask for changes on one video and the item reopens with your note. The agent emails the customer, answers “how long should it be?” in the chat, and follows up until the new take is in.

What is a video testimonial request?

A video testimonial request asks one customer for a short recorded review of your business, with the questions to answer, a length limit and the permission to use it, all in one place. In Tangentflow it is a private link: the customer records on the page with your questions on screen or uploads a file, adds a star rating if you ask for one, and signs for each use you list. The video is checked against your specs, transcribed for quotes, and delivered to you with the signed permission. Tangentflow collects and delivers; it doesn't host, edit or display the videos.

A request, as the customer sees it

Illustrative thread; the names are made up.

  1. Northline Landscaping via Tangentflow · Would you share 60 seconds about your new patio?

Hi Sam, thanks again for choosing us. If you have a minute, we'd love a short video about the project. Three questions are on screen while you record on your phone, and you choose where we can use it.

  2. Sam Ortiz · Re: Would you share 60 seconds about your new patio?

Happy to. Does it have to be one take? I'll probably mess up.

  3. Northline Landscaping assistant · Re: Would you share 60 seconds about your new patio?

Not at all. You can watch your take back and record again as many times as you like before sending. Anything up to 60 seconds works, and holding the phone sideways is perfect.

  4. Northline Landscaping via Tangentflow · One small thing on your video

Hi Sam, thanks for recording! Could you do a quick retake with the phone sideways? The note from the team: we'd like to use it on our website header. Same link as before.

How the reminders are paced

  1. Day 0The invitation goes out, from your business, with the questions and the date you'd like it by.
  2. While there's timeGentle reminders spaced over the days left, never within a day of the customer being active.
  3. Final 30 hoursOne last friendly note before the date. After that, the agent stops and tells you.
  4. Any timeAt most one email a day, only between 8am and 8pm in your time zone.

When it hands over to you

When a customer asks "Do I get a discount for doing this?", the agent doesn't promise anything. It tells them the team will get back to them and emails you with the question. The same happens for complaints, questions about money and anything outside your checklist.

Frequently asked questions

Do customers need to download an app or make an account?
No. The private link opens in the browser on a phone or computer, and they record with the camera on the page. Nothing to install and no password.
Is there a testimonial wall or a widget for my website?
No. Tangentflow collects the videos, ratings, quotes and signed permissions and delivers them to you. It doesn't host public pages, embeds or a video editor, so you publish wherever you already do, such as your website builder, YouTube or your ad account.
How long can a video be?
You set the maximum per item, and recordings stop there. Uploads can be up to 500 MB. Transcripts and quotes are made for videos up to 10 minutes.
Can I use the videos in ads?
Only for the uses the customer signed for. The built-in permission lists each use, such as website, social or paid ads, and the customer ticks the ones they allow. The FTC's rule on consumer reviews and testimonials bars fake reviews and paying for a particular sentiment. This isn't legal advice.
Is it on the free plan?
Yes. Free covers one open request at a time with the full agent on your first request, so you can collect a real testimonial before paying. Pro is $29 a month for unlimited requests, bulk sends and Google Drive delivery.
