Deliver
Getting files out: downloads, destinations, AI assistants
How to download a request as a ZIP or evidence CSV, deliver kept files to Google Drive or a webhook, and connect an AI assistant over MCP.
Updated 4 min read
Tangentflow is not where documents live. Download the package or deliver it to your own storage, then let the copy be deleted.
Download everything as a ZIP
On a request page, click Download all. The ZIP is named after the request's reference (or the checklist name) and holds one folder per checklist item, a folder called Other for files not yet filed, and a summary.txt with the request name, the AI summary and the customer's answers. Downloads work on every plan.
If the checklist's Finish the request setting is After I download the package, downloading a request that is ready for review marks it complete and starts the 24-hour deletion countdown.
The evidence index (CSV)
From the request's menu choose Evidence index (CSV): one table with a row for every file and answer, ready for a workpaper. The columns are #, Item, Required, Status, File or answer, Received (UTC), Check, Issue, Details and Size.
Check reads Passed, Needs a fix or Received, followed by what the document appears to be. Details holds the facts read from the document, such as a statement period and balances. Emailed files not yet sorted appear at the end as Unfiled.
Choosing what to keep
Every file has a Keep checkbox on the request page. Unticked files are not delivered to a destination; they are only deleted. The ZIP includes every file regardless.
Destinations
Destinations are part of Pro. Open Destinations in the sidebar.
Google Drive
Click Connect Google Drive and approve access. Tangentflow asks only for the drive.file permission, so it sees the folders it creates and nothing else. On the first delivery it creates a Tangentflow folder, and inside it one folder per request named "[reference or customer] · [checklist] · [date]", with a subfolder per checklist item and a summary.txt.
If the Drive card says it is not available yet, Google sign-in has not been switched on for the service. Downloads and webhooks work regardless.
Webhook
Click Add webhook, enter a Name and an https:// URL, and confirm. The signing secret is shown once; copy it before closing. Each delivery is a POST with content-type: application/json and two headers: x-tangentflow-timestamp (Unix seconds) and x-tangentflow-signature, which is sha256= followed by the hex HMAC-SHA256 of {timestamp}.{raw body} using your secret.
The body has event: "workspace.delivered", deliveredAt, a workspace object (id, label, flow, customer name and email, submittedAt, completedAt), the AI summary, answers keyed by item label, and a files array. Each file has name, folder (its item label), mime, size, check (status, label, extracted fields) and a signed url with urlExpiresAt. Links work until the request is deleted or for 24 hours, whichever is sooner. Any response other than 2xx counts as a failure.
When delivery happens
Delivery runs automatically when a request completes, if the checklist's Deliver to your storage row is on with a destination chosen. Completion starts the 24-hour deletion countdown, so the files are handed over inside that window.
You can also deliver by hand: from the request's menu choose Send to..., pick a destination in the Send to a destination dialog and confirm.
The result shows as a banner on the request: "Delivered 6 files to Our Drive" with an Open folder link for Google Drive, or "Delivery to Our CRM failed" with the error and a Retry button. A failed delivery sends your team an urgent email, marks the destination Needs attention on the Destinations page, and is logged in the request timeline.
Connecting an AI assistant (MCP)
Pro accounts can run collection from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor through an MCP connection. The assistant manages requests but never receives file contents, and ID and account numbers are masked in everything it sees.
- Open Settings and find Connected apps. Click Copy next to the address, which ends in
/mcp. - In your assistant, add Tangentflow as a custom connector with that address.
- You are sent to Tangentflow to approve it. The page is headed "Allow [assistant] to use Tangentflow?" Viewing is always granted; tick the second box to also allow changes.
- Back in Settings, the connection appears with Can view and make changes or View only. Click Disconnect to revoke it.
The assistant's tools: list your checklists and templates, create a request and email the invitation, list requests (by state, checklist, a missing item or days quiet), get one request in detail, chase a customer (resend the invitation, up to 3 a day, or send a message), mark a request complete, get a ZIP download link that works for 10 minutes, and keep a request longer or put it on hold. Each action appears in the timeline as "via Claude" or whichever assistant you connected.
FAQ
Can I deliver a request that is still open?
Yes, with Send to... from the request menu. Only files ticked Keep are sent. Automatic delivery waits for completion.
Does the ZIP include files from email replies?
Yes. Files filed under an item sit in that item's folder; unsorted ones are in Other. Sort them under Needs sorting first if you want them filed. See Email replies.
