Video Testimonial Software Compared (2026)
Testimonial.to, VideoAsk, Vocal Video, Senja and Tangentflow compared for collecting video testimonials, with listed prices, strengths and who each suits.

Video testimonial tools all promise the same thing: send a link, get a video back. Underneath, they are built for different jobs. Some are display platforms that also collect. Some turn raw clips into polished, captioned videos. One is an interactive video tool that happens to be good at testimonials. And one, ours, is mostly about getting the customer to actually record and sign permission, and leaves display to you.
Below are five tools we could check on their own websites on October 27, 2026: Testimonial.to, VideoAsk, Vocal Video, Senja and Tangentflow. Every claim about a competitor links to the page where we saw it. Where a pricing page did not load for us, we do not quote prices; follow the link and check there.

What to look for
Before the tools, decide which part of the job you are buying for. There are four.
- Getting the yes to become a video. Most testimonials are lost after the customer agrees. A tool that records in the browser, shows your questions on screen and reminds the customer helps here.
- Getting the right video. Orientation, length and resolution matter more than people expect. A sideways two-minute clip is hard to use as a vertical social ad.
- Getting permission in writing. You need to know where each video may appear, especially for paid ads. Our guide to a usage rights release covers what to include.
- Showing it. Walls, widgets, hosting and editing. This is where most tools on this list are strongest, and where Tangentflow does nothing.
If you need help with the asking itself, read how to collect video testimonials and use our testimonial request email templates.
1. Testimonial.to
What it is. A testimonial platform for collecting, managing and displaying testimonials. Customers use "A no-code page you share via link" to "Record a video" or "Send in text". You manage submissions in a "Smart inbox", show them with a "Wall of Love embed" added with "a one-line snippet", and can "Pull existing praise from X, LinkedIn, Reddit, G2, Yelp, Google, TikTok and more." It lists 100+ integrations including Shopify, WordPress, Webflow, Kajabi and Squarespace (testimonial.to).
Recording and consent. The maximum video length is "120 seconds (2 minutes)" on Free and Starter and "300 seconds (5 minutes)" on Ultimate and Ultimate+ (source). The consent statement can be "Required", "Optional" or "Hidden", and defaults to "I give permission to use this testimonial across social channels and other marketing efforts" (source). Its Testimonial Email Assistant sends a request after you email a customer, immediately or after 1, 3 or 7 days, and accepts a CSV, on Ultimate and Ultimate+ (source).
Pricing. As listed on October 27, 2026 on testimonial.to/pricing: Free at $0 with "2 video and 10 text testimonials (total)"; Starter at $25/month with unlimited text and "2 video testimonials (total)"; Ultimate at $50/month/space with unlimited video and text; Ultimate + at $95/month/space, adding an "AI testimonial video editor"; Enterprise on custom pricing. The page has a monthly and yearly toggle, so confirm the billing period.
Who it suits. Businesses that want collection and display in one tool, and that already have reviews on social and review sites worth pulling in.
Honest drawback: Unlimited video testimonials start at Ultimate. Free and Starter list 2 video testimonials in total, so a video-first business will likely need the higher tier.
For a closer look, see Tangentflow vs Testimonial.to.
2. VideoAsk
What it is. An interactive video platform from Typeform. Its home page describes async video conversations, "Video forms" to "collect valuable contact details and feedback", video funnels with branching paths, live calls, and an "embed widget" for your website. Respondents can answer by video, audio, text or multiple choice. It says you can "Connect VideoAsk to over 1,500 applications through Zapier, or use our API and webhooks" (videoask.com).
For testimonials. VideoAsk's testimonial template lets you record a video request, share the link by email, social or SMS, and collect responses: "Customers record and submit their testimonial. No account needed." You then "Download your customers' testimonials and display them on your website or share on social media" (testimonial template).
Pricing. The VideoAsk pricing page did not show plan prices in a form we could read on October 27, 2026, so we do not quote them. Check the pricing page for current plans, any free option and minute limits.
Who it suits. Teams that want more than testimonials: video lead forms, async interviews, branching funnels and live calls, all from one tool. If you like the idea of asking for a testimonial with a short video of yourself, it does that well.
Honest drawback: Testimonials are one use among many, so dedicated testimonial features such as a written usage release or walls of love are not what the product is built around. On the pages we checked, the flow ends with you downloading videos to display elsewhere.
3. Vocal Video
What it is. A video testimonial platform that focuses on the finished video. Respondents need "no downloads" and can "click, record, and upload" on "any device", guided "step-by-step" by templates. It "automatically transforms raw footage into multi-scene videos" with subtitles and your branding, offers "ad-free Video Hosting", and lets you build "galleries, walls of love, slideshows, and more" to share and embed (vocalvideo.com).
Consent. Its help center describes a standard video release on every plan and says "Vocal Video Pro, Scale and Enterprise customers can upload custom, company-specific video releases" (source).
Pricing. The Vocal Video pricing page did not show prices in a form we could read on October 27, 2026, so we do not quote them. Its help center lists five tiers: Free, Essential, Pro, Scale and Enterprise. Free includes "5 active collectors, up to 3 questions each", 20 minutes of video processing a month and 5 publishable videos. Paid plans are billed annually by default and add unlimited publishing, watermark removal and downloads (Paid Plans FAQ). Check the pricing page for current prices.
Who it suits. Marketing teams that want a polished, captioned, branded video without hiring an editor, and a place to host and show it.
Honest drawback: Paid plans are billed annually by default, and the free plan caps processing and publishable videos, so it is a bigger commitment than a month-to-month tool.
4. Senja
What it is. A social proof platform that collects "text & video testimonials on autopilot, or import from 30+ platforms." You can tag and organize testimonials, filter them "by offer, buyer, industry, product, plan", and share them as "Widgets, popups and Walls of Love", social videos and images, and case studies. It includes "Unlimited, ad-free video hosting built in", an AI case study generator, and Zapier, API and webhooks (senja.io).
Editing and consent. Senja's help center lists transcript editing to "Fix any mistakes, like a misspelled business or product name", trimming the start and end, thumbnails, short excerpts and video replacement (source). "Consent is available on all Senja plans" and "The consent page is on by default"; consent "covers the whole testimonial, not each question separately", and can be public, private or listed by channel (source).
Pricing. As listed on October 27, 2026 on senja.io/pricing: Free at $0 with 15 video and text testimonials, 1 collection form and Senja branding on widgets, while still including unlimited widgets and Walls of Love; Starter at $29/month with unlimited testimonials, 3 forms, 2 seats, custom branding, HD video exports, Zapier and API; Pro at $59/month with unlimited forms, 5 projects, 5 seats, rich snippets and automatic translation. Annual billing is listed with "2 months free".
Who it suits. Founders, creators and small teams who want one library of social proof and many ways to show it, with a usable free plan.
Honest drawback: The free plan caps you at 15 testimonials and shows Senja branding on widgets, so most businesses that rely on it will move to a paid plan.
5. Tangentflow
What it is. A collection tool built around an AI agent. Customers open one private link, with no account and no app, on a phone or computer. They record on the page with your questions on screen, a countdown, a preview and a retake, or upload a video up to 500 MB. You set orientation (vertical, horizontal or square), minimum and maximum length, and 720p or 1080p on each video item, and those are checked before upload. The same request can include a 1 to 5 star rating, a written review and photos, which are checked for blur and light.
What happens after. The audio of videos up to 10 minutes is transcribed and checked against your questions, and up to three quotes are pulled out. The customer signs a usage rights release on the page, ticking each use (website, social, paid ads, case studies), and you get a signed PDF. If a take needs redoing, you ask for changes on that one file and the agent follows up for the new one. The AI agent sends the invitation email, answers questions in the on-page chat and by email, paces reminders toward your due date with at most one email a day and quiet hours respected, and hands off to you when a person is needed. Files are delivered as a ZIP, or on Pro to Google Drive or a webhook, then deleted. See video testimonials and the testimonials use case.
Pricing. Free is $0 for one open request at a time, with files kept 7 days and the full AI agent on your first request. Pro is $29 per month for unlimited requests, bulk sends of up to 100 customers from a spreadsheet, Google Drive and webhook delivery, and files kept up to 60 days. See pricing.
Who it suits. Small businesses, agencies, coaches, contractors and clinics in the US and Canada whose problem is that customers agree and then never record, or who need a signed record of each use before running a video in ads.
Honest drawback: Tangentflow has no testimonial wall, embeddable widget, public hosting page, video editor or caption burn-in, and it does not import existing reviews. It is email only, with no SMS. It collects and delivers; you publish elsewhere. Every other tool on this list is better at display.

Which to choose
Match the tool to the part of the job that is failing.
- You need testimonials on your website, and you have reviews elsewhere to pull in: Testimonial.to or Senja. Both lead on walls, widgets and imports. Senja's free plan covers more testimonials; Testimonial.to has more plan options for teams and integrations.
- You want a finished, captioned, branded video without an editor: Vocal Video. Automatic editing is its core.
- You want interactive video beyond testimonials, such as lead forms, branching funnels or async interviews: VideoAsk.
- Customers agree but never record, or you need signed permission for each use: Tangentflow. The AI agent handles the invitation, questions and reminders, specs are checked before upload, and the release produces a signed PDF. Then publish with whatever you already use.
- You want to trim, tag and organize a growing library of proof: Senja.
A combination is common. You can collect with Tangentflow, where the chasing and the signed release live, and publish the delivered files with a display tool or your own website. For a head-to-head, see Tangentflow vs Testimonial.to.
Whatever you pick, two things matter more than the tool: ask soon after a clear win, and get written permission that names each place you will use the video. The FTC's 2024 rule on consumer reviews and testimonials also bars fake reviews and paying for a particular sentiment, so ask for honest ones. This isn't legal advice; check the rules that apply to you.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best video testimonial software for a small business?
It depends on the bottleneck. If you need to show testimonials on your website, Testimonial.to or Senja. If you want polished, captioned videos, Vocal Video. If customers agree and then never record, or you need signed permission for each use, Tangentflow. If you want interactive video for more than testimonials, VideoAsk.
Is there free video testimonial software?
Four of the five list a free plan on pages we could read. Testimonial.to's Free plan includes "2 video and 10 text testimonials (total)" (source). Senja's Free plan includes 15 video and text testimonials (source). Vocal Video's free plan includes 5 publishable videos (source). For VideoAsk, check its pricing page. Tangentflow Free is $0 for one open request at a time, with the full AI agent on the first request.
Do customers need to download an app to record?
Not for the three tools whose pages we checked on this point. Tangentflow records on the page in a phone or computer browser with no account. VideoAsk says "No account needed" for testimonials, and Vocal Video says "no downloads".
Which tool puts testimonials on my website?
Testimonial.to, Senja and Vocal Video offer walls, widgets or galleries, and VideoAsk offers an embed widget. Tangentflow does not; it delivers files to you as a ZIP, or on Pro to Google Drive or a webhook, and you publish them yourself.
Which tool records consent for each use?
Tangentflow's release has the customer tick each use, such as website, social, paid ads and case studies, then type their name and sign, producing a PDF. Senja records consent as public, private or granular, listing specific channels (source). Vocal Video lets Pro, Scale and Enterprise customers upload a custom release (source). Testimonial.to uses a single consent statement you can edit (source).
How long should a video testimonial be?
Usually 60 to 90 seconds of raw footage, which leaves room for a 15 to 30 second social clip. Our guide on collecting video testimonials has lengths by use.
